| as Ketchup will be mixing a ‘Bloody Mary’ at the Eurovision Song Contest Final
Hailing from Córdoba, Las Ketchup are the four daughters of El Tomate, the Flamenco guitarist.
All four of them are young, attractive and friendly. And all four of them have rhythm coursing through their veins, as you can tell by their songs and performances.
Their first CD was called ‘Las Hijas del Tomate’ (‘The Daughters of Tomate’). And just a week after its release, their first single ‘Aserejé’ went to number one in Spain.
Without doubt, it is this cheerful song that won the hearts of the public and introduced the girls to the world of showbiz. ‘Aserejé’ became a huge summer hit and quickly achieved double platinum status.
The secret behind the song was that its chorus was based on the first few lines of the 1979 rap hit ‘Rapper’s Delight’ by the Sugar Hill Gang.
Spanish Television has selected Las Ketchup to represent the Iberian country in the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 20 May. The girls will perform a song called ‘Bloody Mary’ which is written by Queco, the man behind ‘Aserejé’. |
