| With over 10 million records sold, Ich Troje are one of the most popular Polish bands. Their huge following is demonstrated by the fact that they have been chosen by fans to represent Poland in Eurovision for the second time! Their first appearance at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Riga earned them seventh place in the contest. They performed the song ‘Keine Grenzen’ in three languages (Polish, Russian and German).
This year’s Eurovision appearance marks the band’s 10th anniversary. Ich Troje was created in 1996 by Michał Wiśniewski (lyricist) and Jacek Łągwa (songwriter). Although they are long-time friends, their personalities couldn’t be more different. Michał – charismatic, green-haired lead singer – has been the most popular figure in Polish show business for the past four years. Jacek is not interested in fame, and believes that one showman in a band is enough.
However, Ich Troje have always been more interested in their fans, than in their own success and career. Michał often takes part in charity events, donating money to children’s homes, childcare centres and individuals in need and, above all, sharing his warmth, openness and kindness.
In Athens, Michał and Jacek will be joined on stage by all the vocalists, who have sang in the band over these last 10 years – Magda Femme, Justyna Majkowska and Ich Troje’s current singer Anna Świątczak. Moreover, there will be a guest vocal performance by... O-Jay (Real McCoy).
With ‘Follow My Heart’ Ich Troje aim to win the hearts of Eurovision fans all over Europe. It is a wonderful, moving piece about love and its problems, and about the best way to cure them – trusting the voice of your heart... |
