| Christine Guldbrandsen (20) has, despite her young age, already got herself thoroughly noticed on the Norwegian music scene. At 18 she released her first album ‘Surfing in the air’ which went gold in just three weeks. She followed up with her second album ‘Moments’ in 2004. Both records were released on SonyBMG.
Christine’s musical journey started long before her album was released, though. At the tender age of three, she started singing in a children’s choir and over the next 12 years she fronted the choir, performing at concerts as a soloist. At 13, Christine started working with the producer team Kjetil Fluge and Atle Halstensen and together they spent the next few years finding Christine’s musical style, while she gained valuable experience performing in numerous concerts and television shows.
Christine loves writing music. Together with her producers, she wrote most of the tracks on her two albums, and she also shares the credits on ‘Alvedansen’, the Norwegian entry in the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest. “Taking part in creating the songs is very important to me,” Christine says. “The songs become a part of me, and that gives me a personal fulfilment performing them.”
Christine has worked full time on her music since she finished school two years ago. Apart from music, she also enjoys skiing and fast cars, but music takes up most of her time. “It’s a sacrifice I’m more than willing to make though,” she says. “This has been my dream for as long as I can remember, and I feel really lucky being able to share my music with other people!” |
