23-year-old Sandra Oxenryd from Sweden is a former economics student and floorball player. Together with her Swedish friends – a former teacher, a cashier and a guy that just loves skiing – she is now competing for Estonia, supported by two Estonian backing singers, who have already participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000 and 2002.
Sandra's singing career started on national TV as an 11-year-old. At the age of 18, she took part in a national TV look-a-like show. She performed as the famous singer Carola and ended up coming second in the final. In 2005, Sandra won the 'Fame Factory' competition and recorded an album with the biggest schlager record company in Sweden. At the moment, she is working for the biggest entertainment company in Sweden. Her three backing dancer-singers work for the same company and, to cut a long story short, that's where they met and became friends.
Sandra loves the Eurovision Song Contest and has been watching it for as long as she can remember, and now her dream of performing in it has come true. She thinks that the song ‘Through My Window’ has got a really catchy chorus – by the second chorus, you can already sing along with it.
Together with her mixed group of backing singers – three Swedish singers and two Estonians – she is going to do her very best as she represents Estonia. |
