| Andre is one of the most popular musicians in Armenia. In 2004 and 2005, users of www.armtv.com, the Armenian broadcaster’s website, voted him the best singer at Armenia's National Music Awards, a major show held annually each December.
And now he is set to find international fame after 60 jurors selected him to represent Armenia at the Eurovision Song Contest in Greece. It will be the first time that the country has taken part in the contest.
Andre will perform a beautiful love song which combines modern and ethnic elements. It's touching, fascinating and melodic. The composer of the song is the conductor of the Jazz Orchestra of Armenia, Mr. Armen Martirosyan while the arrangement is by Mr. Ara Torosyan (Murzik), one of the biggest names in the Armenian music industry.
Andre At the age of six, he enrolled at the Stepanakert Komitas Music School to learn the piano. Three years later Andre wrote his first song, 'Prayer', which he dedicated to God. Andre sang in The Children of Artsakh youth ensemble which performed to different audiences. At the age of 15, performing as an individual for the first time, Andre took part in the 'Road to Renaissance' competition, which marked the real starting point of his career as musician.
The 'Road to Renaissance' competition was followed by concerts in Armenia and Andre also won several international competitions in Donetsk, Mogilyev, Moscow, Almaty, Shanghai, California, Iran and Georgia.
Andre has won many silver and gold medals and his songs have always done well in the charts. He has already won the title of Best Male Singer in the National Music Awards twice.
On 18 May, he will represent Armenia on the Eurovision stage in Athens. |
