| Diana and Simon literally met on stage when they performed as part of a six-strong group in 1998. They formed duo, “Platin” two years later.
Describing themselves as “mad as hatters,” Platin has a repertoire of over 600 hundred songs which include everything from melodious pop to rock ballads and country music. They also perform cover versions of well-known 1970s hits and the best from the current European charts.
Platin also write their own material and have performed at various Slovenian music festivals. In 2002, they performed “Five Minutes” at the Hit Festival; at the EMA 2003 they sang their song, “A Hundred and One Story.” They came third at the Hit Festival 2003 with their song, “A Thousand Times.” Most recently, they won the EMA 2004 with their song, “Stay Forever.”
Simon also writes music and arrangements for other singers, while Diana writes lyrics for songs they produce in their own studio.
Diana and Simon are also a couple in their private life. At last year’s EMA concert Simon went down on one knee and presented a very surprised Diana with an engagement ring. The wedding is already planned… |
