| Blue Café, extremely popular in Poland and one of the country’s best live acts, got their tickets for Istanbul on January 24th.
And the song? It’s simply called “Love Song” and comes from the pen of Blue Café singer Tatiana Okupnik. The music has been written by her fellow band member and keyboarder
Pawel Rurak-Sokal
A special highlight: Apart from performing their song in English, it’s not only Tatiana’s looks but a sprinkling of Spanish as well that goes straight to the heart – “Te quiero como eres, quiero ser tu muchacha“ [“I love you as you are, I want to be your lover“] …. So: Switch off “rrrrrrazón” – and get ready for “pasión”!
Blue Café
In 2001 the band Blue Café ( this being Tatiana Okupnik –vocals, Pawel Rurak-Sokal – keyboards, Marcin Błasiak - bass, Piotr Grąbkowski – saxophone, Sebastian Kasprowicz – electric guitar, Piotr Sławiński - trumpet, Michał Niewiadomski –trombone, Łukasz Moszczyński - drums) signed a contract with Pomaton, the Polish label of the EMI group, and off they went!
The result was quite something to look at, and, especially, to listen to: their debut CD “Fanaberia” – the award - and platinum!- winning masterpiece, a mix of jazz, funk, pop and Latin disco with hip hop beats blended in as well.
And to make sure their success wasn’t just a flash in the pan, Blue Café went for another round in December 2003: Their second CD “Demi – sec” came out and got itself gold-plated right on the first day on the market.
A success that can be directly linked to charismatic Tatiana Okupnik. She is the centre of attention, her astoundingly beautiful voice luring and vibrating, purring and crooning, cuddling up and then rocking again – always carried along and framed by her highly energetic band. It is not at all surprising, then, that Blue Café best bring on their full power live! |
