| Lyrical Rock ‘n’ Roll.
Fomins & Kleins was founded at the end of 2002.
The group’s members, Ivo Fomins and Tomass Kleins, are both accomplished rock musicians. Both hail from the western Latvian port of Liepaja, a city famous for its rock music. Both have previously worked together, in Soviet times forming the underground group, “Sweet Faces.”
Singer Ivo Fomins also trained as a chef and has taken part in several musical projects in Latvia as a solo artist as well as performing in Russia, Poland, Austria, Denmark as well as at the “Big Apple” festival in the USA.
Ivo -- whose older brother, Igo is also one of Latvia’s most popular singers -- grew up without his mother and it was his father, a taxi driver, who taught him to look at life realistically and accept it the way it is.
Ivo’s influences are Robert Plant, David Coverdale and Steven Tyler.
Tomass Kleins, the group’s guitarist, also composes the group’s music. A former member of Latvia’s most famous rock band, “Līvi” Kleins grew up in a traditional gypsy family; singing and musicianship were already in his blood. While studying the guitar, Tomass learned much from AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy Osbourne and Pink Floyd.
Fomins & Kleins is signed to Microphone Records, Latvia’s largest record company. |
