| Duo "Alexandra & Konstantin" is the official representative of the Republic of Belarus at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest.
Alexandra Kirsanova was born on 22 May 1980 and has been singing since childhood. She is a music school graduate and trained Pianist as well as playing the Ocarina, Blockflute, Harp, Vargan and Percussion. She loves animals and traveling.
Konstantin Drapezo was born 11 March 1972 and also composes and arranges the duo’s music. He is also the group’s Guitarist, an instrument he has played since he was 12-years-old. When he has time, he enjoys playing football and traveling.
The duo was formed in 1998 in Borisov, Belarus. Initially they played cover versions of world-famous songs, but since 1999 their music has been more influenced by a modern folk music. In 2000 they became the laureates of Belraus’ TV contest for young performers, “Zornaya Rostan” (Star Crossroads). They were awarded 100 hours of recording at the Belarusian TV & Radio Company. In 2001 Alexandra & Konstantin released the album “Za Likhimi Za Marozami” (Following Hard Frost). It was an album that really propelled the duo’s career and A & K went on to perform in Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Estonia, Poland and Germany as well as successfully participate and win the international contests and festivals including Belarus’ “Slavonic Bazaar 2002,” “Etnosphere 2002 in Poland” and Kazakhstan’s “Astana 2003.”
In 2003, the duo released their second album, “Soyka” (The Jay). |
